When David wakes up surrounded by strangers dressed in white gowns chanting praise to a name as unfamiliar to him as his new environment, he is quick to realize that he carries no memory of how he arrived. In fact, he has little recollection of anything before this very moment. The only thing sure and real to him are the strange faces staring down at him with tears of glee.
